Plot: In Boyz N the Hood you have to pay attention in the beginning because it skips a couple years into the future. You have to pay attention to the characters names or else you won’t be able to understand what’s happening and who its happening to. Also there is an incident right before it skips to the future that you have to understand or you won’t understand what part in time it is, what happened to the characters. Also there is an incident in the middle of the movie that you need to pay attention to because it comes up later in the movie, is the biggest part in the movie. Otherwise if you pay attention to all of that than the plot of the movie will make sense and you can enjoy a very good movie and understand all of it.
Characterization: The characters in this movie are 9 African Americans Furious Styles, Tre Styles, Tre's Mom, Ricky, Darren (Doughboy), Ricky's and Darren's mom, Baker, Chris, and another kid that you don’t really get to know the name of. Darren and his crew (Baker, Chris, and some other kids) are hanging around getting trouble with the cops.

Tone: Boyz N the Hood is a Comedy/Reality movie. This movie is a comedy because there are funny incidents that happen in the movie. But it a reality because its about what happens in South Central Los Angeles, and what really happens to kids as they grow up there.
Music: The music in this movie doesn't really point out when something is about to happen. It points out when in is going to move to another scene. The music does point go on when an event is about to happen, but it doesn't point it out it still leaves you wondering if something is about to happen.
Audience Appropriateness: This movie is meant for a mature audience. It has a lot of cursing and unnessicery profanity in it. Also there is nudity it, so as I said it is meant for mature audiences.
